Born and raised in Washington, DC I knew at a very young age that my purpose in life was to help others. My early exposure to how poverty, drugs and violence negatively affected my community and family anchored my desire to help those with the most need.
I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Social Work from Morgan State University and continued on and obtained my Master of Social Work degree from the University of Maryland, Baltimore; specializing in health care, psychotherapy and community organization.
After school, I returned home to DC to work in the neighborhood I grew up in helping people affected by HIV/AIDS. Throughout my social work career I have held many senior-level positions in the social service, mental health and criminal justice fields. In 2015, I started my own private practice to help women, teen girls and their families maximize their full potential.
My therapeutic style is Professional, Relaxed, Non-Judgmental and REAL! I am a firm believer that everyone is capable of changing and improving their situations if they want to and if they are willing to do the work! One of my favorite quotes says “Everyday you have a chance to be a better version of yourself.” As a therapist I take pride in helping my clients become better versions of themselves. I love listening to Audibles, dinner dates with friends, traveling (any place where there’s a beach and warm water), and supporting my two children in their sporting activities (I am a PROUD cheer and football Mom).
